How To Understand What Red Light Therapy Is?
Red light therapy, also known as Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), or “photobiomodulation”, is defined as a light therapy with minimal heat production. In other words, red and infrared light are added to the body without heating your tissues up.
In Northern Europe, classic red light lamps are very popular. These lamps are mainly used to treat sinusitis or muscular tension. Although these red light lamps diffuse some red light and infrared light that enters your body, they offer by far not the same intensity and stimulating biological effect as more recent red and near-infrared light therapy devices. These recent devices emit light at very specific wavelengths - older models don’t do that so they have fewer benefits.
